Welcome to the Rocktopia Forum! (updated on Monday, 24th February 2014)

We thank all of you for being a part of this growing community. In order to keep the forums running well, to keep its friendly atmosphere and to prevent problems, please follow these simple rules for the forums here. If you have any questions or problems, please feel free to contact one of the board administrators.

Summary of Important Guidelines:

You agree that you will not post any material which is knowingly false and/or defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, or otherwise violate of any law. You agree not to post any copyright protected material unless the copyright protected material is owned by you.

These Guidelines are clear and essential. We are more than happy for people to discuss matters which will raise strong opinions, just don't ever express your opinions in an abusive or overly aggressive tone. High spirits are fine, abuse is not.

Detailed Forum Guidelines:

A Thread, Comment, Review or Posting should:

- Be accurate (where it states facts).
- Be genuinely held (where it states opinions).
- Comply with the law or regulation applicable across the UK and in any country from which it is posted.
- Keep to the original theme, wherever possible (a new thread should be started to focus on a branching from the original theme).

A Thread, Comment, Review or Posting should not:

- Be defamatory to any person.
- Be obscene, offensive, hateful or inflammatory (also known as "flame baiting" and/or "trolling" ).
- De-rail the original topic (see above)

You should avoid:

- the use of sexually explicit or harmful language including the use of misspelled or punctuated words to insinuate, represent any of the above (also known as "masked swearing" ).
- promoting discrimination based on race, sex, religion, nationality, disability, sexual orientation or age.
- disclosing the name, address, telephone, mobile or fax number, email address or any other personal data in respect of any individual.
- infringing any copyright, database rights, trade mark or any other proprietary right of any other person.
- re-posting private messages on the Forums without the express consent of the sender.
- breaching any legal duty owed to a third party, such as a contractual duty or a duty of confidence.
- impersonate any person, or misrepresent your identity or affiliation with any person.
- giving the impression that the Thread, Comment, Review or Posting emanates from Rocktopia or any of Rocktopia partners if this is not the case.
- including any advertisement or promote any services other than those offered by Rocktopia or contain web links to other sites with the purpose of advertising or promoting those sites.
- being made to "Name and Shame" other users.
- partaking in personal arguments with other members of the community. If you have problems with other members please either resolve your issues in private via PM or email.
- purposely provoke other people in order to start arguments, also known as "Trolling"
- posting any material that mocks, denounces, ridicules or disparages any religion, belief system, lifestyle choice, race, gender, sexuality or nationality

All postings must be in English

Note that all visitors to Rocktopia have their IP address logged. We reserve the right to ban the user by their IP address (rather than account / individual) in the case of serious transgressions of the above guidelines.

Custom Profiles and Signatures:


The custom profile picture and signature options are edited via your Profile and / or upon registration. Profile pictures are shown in your public profile. Signatures, once created in your profile, are attached to the end of your posts (if you choose the option to include your signature).

Profile pictures should avoid sexually explicit or graphically intense images.


Signatures should not include or link to illegal encouragement, harassment, sexually explicit, or other non-family-friendly content.

- should be setup in your profile, and not manually added to your messages.
- can include a limited number of clickable links.
- font size should not be larger than normal.
- should be kept to a maximum of five lines when viewed at 1024x768 resolution.
- your signature is your signature. It is not for sale or rent.
- signatures that are offensive or insulting to Rocktopia, its members, or its staff, are prohibited.
- the right to ask you to change and/or remove your signature at any time and for any reason is reserved, although this is unlikely except in particularly exceptional circumstances.


Please remember that this guide is intended to secure a friendly atmosphere in the forum. We will do our best to keep this forum clean, and provide members and guests with a friendly atmosphere. We remain at your service, and invite you to assist it in our efforts by respecting this forum’s guidelines and by identifying any member who might be breaking the rules.
